George Petty Girls

The pin up art of George Petty is some very iconic work. His classic pinup girls are very recognizable, and he is regarded as one of the great pin up artists of the golden age. Like Vargas and Elvgren, Petty had a very long career. A master of airbrush art, he began creating pinup calendar images as early as 1926, and his career lasted until the 1970′s.

Memphis Belle Posters

Memphis Belle was the nickname of a B-17F Flying Fortress during the Second World War that inspired the making of two motion pictures: a 1944 documentary film, Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress, and a 1990 Hollywood feature film, Memphis Belle. It was one of the first U.S. Army Air Forces heavy bombers to complete 25 combat missions (the first being Hell’s Angels). The plane and crew then returned to the United States to sell war bonds. The original airplane is undergoing extensive restoration at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.
