Decals, Stickers, Tattoos, Photographs, Pins, Lighters and More of popular pin up girls from WWI and WWII. As most people may know, nose art (airplane nose art, aircraft nose art, bomber nose art) is just about as old as aviation itself. It is well known that pilots in WWI and WWII made it a tradition to modify the noses of their aircraft with illustrations of popular cartoons, animals, and of course, vivacious pin-ups from back home. For young pilots and mechanics serving their country, most of them young men, nose art was a much needed morale booster.
